After what seems like forever, we at Brel are finally launching our new menu this Thursday, to the delight of young and old alike. The mussels are staying, but everything else has been swept away by the tides of change, guided by Stevie, God of the sea and new Head Chef. Actually, that might be a little melodramtic. Regardless, the new menu comes into place on Thursday, and will be available to view on this website on Wednesday evening.
After excellent weather from Bank Holiday Monday onwards, we launched our barbeque amid much fanfare on Friday night. Predictably, it then got quite cold, and rained on and off over the weekend. We persevered however, and the barbeque had a successful opening weekend. It seems our customers will brave wind and rain if there"s a Brel homemade burger at the end of it.
This weeks gigs - On Wednesday Viva Melodia present The Asthmatic Scene and Rodge Glass. Tickets are £2 on the door. On Thursday we have Crash My Model Car. Tickets are £7 on the door, and their website is www.crashmymodelcar.com
Once again, we"ll be receiving a new shipment of brand new Belgian beers on Friday. We"re still not 100% sure what"s arriving and what isn"t, but we can guarantee at least 2 new faces, sold exclusively in Brel. Come by the bar on Friday night to see what we have.
I"d also like to thank our Assistant Manager Kenny, for taking the weekend off on what turned out to be our busiest week of the year. I can only hope he enjoys himself as much on his next designated time off, sometime after the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
